Uses

Formoterol is generally used in treatment of asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease
Fluticasone propionate is generally used in treatment of allergy symptoms, asthma, oral lichen planus, severe allergic reactions and skin disorders

How to use

Use this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. For directions before use, please check the label. Twist off the top of the respule/transpule and squeeze all the liquid into the nebulizer. It should be used right away after opening.

Direct the spray away from the cartilage diving the two sides of your nose and toward the sides of your nostril. As you spray, breath gently and keep the head upright. Repeat in the other nostril.

How it works

Formoterol is a bronchodilator. It relaxes the muscles in the airways & respiratory tract to make the condition better. This helps in making the breathing easier.
Fluticasone propionate is a steroid. It blocks the production of some chemical messengers that cause inflammation, redness, swlling & other allergies in the body thereby improving the condition.
Q. Is Formoterol a steroid?
Formoterol is not a steroid but it belongs to the type of drug know as long-acting beta-agonists. Formoterol is also available with the combination of steroid in the form of an inhaler

Q. How long does it take to work and how long does it stay in the body?
Formoterol works better if it is taken before heavy workout or exercise. it is effective for 12 hours in the body so next dosage should not be taken before 12 hours.

Q. What is Formoterol fumarate/Formoterol fumarate dihydrate/Formoterol and budesonide/Formoterol and advair?
Formoterol fumarate and Formoterol fumerate dihydrate are different formulations of Formoterol. Budesonide is a steroid which may be prescribed by the doctor along with Formoterol. Advair is another long acting beta agonist which is the brand name for salmeterol and fluticasone

  • Fluticasone propionate is used to treat a variety of conditions that require either reduction of inflammation or suppression of the immune system.Don't use it more often or for longer than advised by your doctor.Take it with food to avoid an upset stomach.Fluticasone propionate can make it harder for you to fight off infections. Notify your doctor if you have any signs of infection such as a fever or sore throat.Side effects such as mood changes or stomach problems can happen when you start taking Fluticasone propionate. Inform your doctor if this bothers you.Do not stop taking Fluticasone propionate suddenly without talking to your doctor first as it may cause worsening of symptoms.
